Originally from Wyoming, Martin A Tyce joined the United States Military Academy Concert Band at West Point after completing his undergraduate studies at Bethany College, Lindsborg, KS in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts. Over the years, in addition to completing a Master of Science in Counselling at Long Island University, C.W. Post, Mr Tyce has been active with West Point Lutheran Ministries. In 2008, he was assigned as vicar to the West Point Lutheran Ministries at West Point, NY as a Distance Education Leading toward Ordination student in association with Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. These studies were completed in February of 2012. Currently a trombonist and Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, Vicar Tyce has served as the Brass Group Leader of the United States Military Academy Concert Band. Vicar Tyce will be retiring after more than 23 years of military service this fall, allowing him to concentrate more fully on ministry. He was ordained into the Holy Ministry on May 12, 2012, and is currently the Pastor of Atonement Lutheran Church. He currently lives at West Point with his wife, Teresa, and their children, Natalie, 14, and Carl, 11. Both Pastor Tyce and Teresa are adjunct professors at Marist College teaching Introduction to Classical Music and Music in America.
